The athlete of the month for August is Heather Schultz! Help us congratulate her! Heather has been doing CrossFit for six years and started because she was not seeing results at a commercial gym. Her son and husband were karate students of Brian‘s so she watched the gym grow over the years. When her membership expired for the commercial gym she decided to join CrossFit. Her favorite thing about ASDC is the camaraderie that everyone has as when one succeeds it feels like all of us do. Heather’s favorite movement to do at the gym is overhead squats. Again, congratulations and keep up the hard work!

Congratulations to our athlete of the month for July who only missed 4 days of classes Jason Nass! Jay started CrossFit about 10 years ago, took a break for about a year but has been at ASDC since January 2016. Jay said he started CrossFit because “I was getting tired of the standard chest/tris, bis/back, shoulders/legs (who am I kidding, I didn’t do legs anyway) days at the traditional gyms. I was also intrigued by the fact that some of the workouts were so short, which at the time was unconventional.” Jay has many things he loves about ASDC CrossFit but a few are the people, the accountability, the coaching, and the way it keeps all the ice cream he eats off his hips. Help us congratulate Jason Nass! Keep putting in the hard work!

Congratulations Clara on becoming the first ASDC Athlete of the month! During June, Clara attended the most classes this past month with a good mix of class times and coaches. Clara started doing CrossFit for a year and a half ago during the pandemic. She made a commitment to herself to start exercising and eating healthier. Clara was drawn to Crossfit because it was different than the typical gym and every day the workout is different. Her favorite movement to do at the gym is deadlifts. Clara said her favorite thing about ASDC “are the people and the coaches. They have been very welcoming and I feel like family. The coaches motivate me each and every day I come here. They take the time to explain whatever I don’t understand and correct my form when needed. I like the positivity and encouragement that they give me! The support is incredible...
