Our athlete of the month for September was Bill Foster! Bill started CrossFit in February because he has a couple of friends who had been doing CrossFit for several years, one who is now a coach. They suggested he try it out over the informal program he had been trying to do on his own. He appreciated how everyone at ASDC has been very welcoming and supportive from day one. He says if you are nervous or intimidated about starting CrossFit “The coaches do an excellent job of reinforcing the importance of form. Take as much time as you need to learn how to do the movements properly. Progression will take care of itself at the right time.” Help us congratulate Bill for doing an amazing job in the gym!

Our June Athlete of the Month is Jesse Harrod! She started CrossFit about 9 years ago because she knew someone who was able to do pull-ups and was so inspired to try CrossFit. She loves everything about ASDC, but the coaches are what make it. The coaches are amazing and Brian is an incredible leader. Jesse says “In many ways, CrossFit seems like the most body-positive sport. There are people in it at any age and weight. For folks who are differently abled, it all feels adaptable and still rigorous and that feels radical!” Help us congratulate Jesse on all her hard work!

Our athlete of the month for May was Drew! He started CrossFit almost 3 years ago. Drew started running about a year before he started Crossfit to lose weight, but he got bored with it and wanted something more. His friend David suggested CrossFit, even though Drew had no idea what it was he decided to try it out! He stuck with it because he liked having the opportunity to build strength as well as endurance. Drew’s favorite thing about ASDC is “The attentiveness of the coaches. Everything is super individualized and every coach knows each athlete so well that they are always available for a personalized recommendation. I was not expecting to learn so many new skills when I first started and that has been a huge plus. The community is also amazing. I’ve made many new friends through ASDC.” He says if you are nervous or intimidated to...
